I haven’t done creative writing in a while

But in the past I wrote short stories and poetry. I would like to write a novel and full fledged book. I also wonder what it would it be like to write screenplays and scripts. My dream careers are to be an author and creative writer mixed with translator/linguist and historian. I would love to write professionally collections of poetry, collections of short stories and long novels and books. But I get major creative block sometimes and I would be happy even if my stories were published by an indie publisher. It would be heavenly to be a best selling author and be worth millions or even just hundreds of thousands. The genres I would specialize in are fantasy, historical fiction, romance, and mysteries/thrillers. I would be fortunate if I ever got professionally published at all and made even $50,000-$100, 000 per year from my writing. There are enough individuals who want to be creative writers but most never get published or achieve best selling status or even mid range status. It’s a tough market to break into sadly.

Just keep writing. The world starves for art

I think the fact that you still have the desire to write after having stepped away from creative writing for a while is already meaningful. Creative blocks happen, and perhaps they are less a sign that the creativity is gone than a reminder that it sometimes needs time and space.
