April 9 Writing Prompt: Fading Memories

Not sure how true this is for others, but I tend to remember good experiences, while the bad ones fade from memory. I’m thankful for this form of self-preservation because I think I’d be consumed by an overwhelming sadness if painful events from the past entered my consciousness very often.
