Laying on the bed I look up to the bright light. It pierces my eyes, bringing forth tears of joy and sorrow. Why am I here…what has brought me to this point…have I lived my life to the fullest.
Inner reflection on my life allows for a flow of great memories and moments that I cherish. This is but one of those stories.
Let me take you back to 1991…Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves was playing in the theatre and Bryan Adam’s Everything I Do I’d do it for you was a hit in everyone’s heart.
I was a lowly employee of a local firm, just starting. My on-boarding orientation was in the basement of a house not far from where I live now. I,being early, sat in the burgundy leather chair. I was so comfortable and confident. My denim jean jacket collar up and my smile as big as the sun.
As I sat there conversing with my team leader…she walked in. Her perfume caught my first sense and her appearance the second. A scent of roses with a rush of ocean breeze as I inhaled and closed my eyes. Mmmm
Her ripped acid washed denim jeans fit tight to her petite legs and nice rounded…
Her black leather jacket hugged her tight as her platinum blonde hair flowed overtop her shoulders. Her teased hair standing in every direction, so enticing.
I imagined a touch… a feel, she turned and our eyes caught one another. I was so damn shy, but I held her gaze as she sat directly across from me. Who was this magnificent beauty?
I couldn’t help but scan her entire form as she removed her jacket. Her petite form, her gentle looking but well polished pink fingernails.
I casually said hello and introduced myself. She leaned forward and reach out her hand…our fingers touched. I smiled, her hands so smooth and delicate.
A waft of her perfume entered my mouth. I could taste her…but just a fantasy. My mind jumping to all ends of the earth. Calmness I reinforced with myself…calmness. Act cool you damn fool…I smiled deeper and a smile was returned.
I let go of her hand. She sat back and so did I.
On-boarding started that day…would she marry me?
