I've been taking notes with a pen after like, I don't even know how long

I'm still amazed at myself that I can remember how to write cursive

Though sometimes I fucked up and skipped syllables, had to rewrite some words lol

It's as unreadable and ugly as always 😌 and my wrist hurts

Okay, so I started taking my notes on an Android tablet using OneNote all the way back twelve years ago. My learning style depends on copious notes and in high school I filled many notebooks. But I committed myself to digitizing the process when I got to university.

The advantage to taking notes on a tablet is that you can have it recording the lecture while you take notes. You can pick it up and take a pic of the board if the prof draws a pic of something. And, of course, all your written text can be almost instantly turned into searchable text on the fly.

You can keep your pigment-filled tubes of plastic and your pressed pulp of dead trees. I take my notes with a stylus. ;)

@sarabee1995 Yeah! But I had no tablets at hand; I'm taking a course that didn't really require taking notes (problem is, hearing someone speak for 8h will only get myself asleep, so I took notes to stay concentrated lol) and opted for the old manual art ✍🏻

@Elessar Nice. And, yes, notetaking is a GREAT way to stay focused in a long class.

But, yeah, I have a OneNote file that has all my notes through four years of undergrad. A separate file that has all my notes from grad school. And now I've started a new file for my current pursuits! ;)
