Which was your favourite book as a child? Something by the Brothers Grimm?

There's a lot you have to do to beat the Harry Potter books, I know, but ever read Black Beauty? There are so many books so well-written that as a child they absorbed you and taught you a moral or two. How about Tom Sawyer, or The Count of Monte Cristo? What do you remember gleaning from what you read?
