We talk alot about tropes in modern writing. But it seems there is nothing new here either.

I have been reading up on some old stories about Charlemagne, the paladins or 12 peers and well it reads like King Arthur with different names. Same half historical, half mythological tales. They both even feature magic swords, Excalibur, and Durandal.
