Breathe (The silence)

Breathe
Breathe, feel the couch behind you and close your eyes
They are just words and no matter how vile, they cannot hurt you
Just words spoken with a sense of entitlement and tinged with venom
And you can either fight or withdraw into yourself.
Breathe, try to force the pain they cause away and fight through this
It should mean nothing to you, just words you tell yourself again
But deep down inside the feeling of depression needs to be pushed out
Turned from that downward spiral into anger and a sense of resistance.
But you cannot bring yourself to do that, what good would it do?
You just let the feelings twist like a knife inside your stomach
it can only last for so long before the silence comes once again
Inside that peace will eventually come and you will find a way out
