Exchanged silences and then flurries of communication
Never knowing what is to come next but wanting to know
The start of a new day and the end of another
Different places and times but are still close in our ways

Days flowing by with the promise of something better
Moments taken when given and accepted with joy
Letting go of whatever happened in the past and just living
No promises or guarantees just the two of us in here and now

The sound of your voice growing quieter in my ear
The soft sound of your breathing growing deeper
The first sounds of your snoring come to me
And here I sit and capture the day as it needs to be
