Find Me There

Walls are thrown up around me as I sit in that space
The need to protect myself created this place
That need for something more in years gone by
Now those failures come back and the walls rise again

The thoughts of those failures sing over and over in my head
Never thought I was good enough with the feelings felt inside
Those barriers keep people out as they grow higher
Feel lost within them but a sense of protection lasts

Looking up as I withdraw deeper and the shadow falls over me
Once upon a time I felt the strength to come out from behind them
But now that time has come and gone and I curl up tighter
There I am to be found, so if you want to find me, find me there
