Ride The Wind

Standing at the edge and looking down at the ocean below
The waves break against the rocks as neither breaks nor quits
The wind whips around your body and should be biting cold
But deep down inside you feel nothing and have no more tears to give

Above the howl of the winds you can hear the birds circling overhead
In your head, you wonder if your presence means anything to them
But deep down you know that no one cares nor do you matter
The pain is so deep that even your dreams cannot bring peace

A Step forward and you would find the void and the oblivion beyond
Arms now outstretched beside you and eyes closed against what is to come
A final deep breathe as your mind is made up and you know what needs to be Done
Find the edge go beyond it and ride the wind into the peace that lies beyond
