It's a Trap (Number Five)

It's a Trap (Five)

He sat back against the couch and held his cup between both hands and could tell from the heat still rising off of it that it was still not quite ready for him to drink or not at least without embarrassing himself.

"Thanks for the drink"

He offered as he saw her watching him, he could not tell what she was trying to figure out and he had not picked up on any of those usual warning signs or bad vibes that made most men want to run screaming. but strangely enough rarely did.

"Thanks for walking me home"

She offered in response and he watched her lift her cup closer to her mouth and begin to blow gently against the liquid held within.

"Might still be a little hot"

He offered trying to be helpful and the look he received from her in return told him that she probably knew that and his explaining or concern was not warranted at this time.

"Just a little"

She said in response and continued to blow into the cup to try and cool the liquid down enough for her to be able to drink.

That was the point where he started to feel that uncomfortable silence that if this were a bad movie, he might have turned around and blurted out the name of some sports
team with a comment like, how about those?

He looked from her and his eyes drifted to the table in front of them and the remote control that sat on top of it and then looked back to her not wanting to be rude to his host.

"Do you want me to put the TV on?"

She asked as he watched her eyeline turn back from the table to look at him once more and she smiled.

"Sure, I mean, if you want to?"

He said and had that sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach that perhaps it was not the right answer to the question and started to regret his answer and the horrible sinking feeling just seemed to grow even worse.

Without saying another word she leaned over towards the table picked up the black remote control and pointed it at the television set which came to life a moment later and he turned his head to look.
it was an impressive-sized television set, not that mattered right now, but his brain felt like it was now racing almost as quickly as his heart seemed to be and he could not help but risk taking a sip from his cup.

The liquid within was warm and welcoming and this seemed to calm his nerves for a moment before he recognised the images on the television screen and could not help but be drawn towards them.

He almost instantly recognised the scene from Return of the Jedi as the Rebellion ships dropped from hyperspace to bring the fight to the Galactic Empire at the site of their Deathstar.

"But how could they be Jamming us, if they don't know we're coming?"

Lando Calrissian spoke the words to his Co-Pilot in the Millennium Falcon as the music soared to new heights for the audience.

He could not help but look back to see what she was doing as the movie continued to play. he did not want to become one of those people who gets caught up staring at a screen.

To his relief, she had also turned her head to look at the screen and seemed as engrossed in the moment as he had been a moment before.

"Take Evasive action, Green group stick close to sector MG7"

Admiral Ackbar, on the screen, directing his fleet as they split off away from their approach to the Deathstar as the music continued to grow in intensity if he had not seen this movie as many times as he had, he might have been leaning closer to the edge of the couch.

"Admiral, we have enemy ships in sector 47"

One of the other Mon Cal ship crew called out to Admiral Ackbar to warn him of the impending danger

The pair of them were now both staring at the television screen and both speaking at the same time along with the character on screen.
