Empire

Dreams of an Empire that stretched from sea to shining sea
Vast wealth beyond all that could be seen or believed
The world was my playground and almost nothing I could not conceive
No fear of losing control or having to let go

A place where dreams can come true like heaven upon earth
The collection of so many people and places all under the same guiding hand
All the best that could be offered by those ruled by such a hand
An Empire that spans the ages and creates so much to treasure

Such a place is perhaps something or a fantasy beyond reach
Even in those dreams, if something were even possible
My mind would always come drifting back
Because what would such a place be, without you
