Just wanted to find a place to express my thoughts and words
To take all that was bottled up inside and find a way to make it something else
Inside the spark might have remained but it felt like it was just a flicker
The pain of life and love was too much to handle on my own as I sought shelter

But you came along and my eyes opened as I sat up like a dog begging for a treat
I knew from the start that there was something about you and I was drawn closer
Like a moth drawn to a flame, I came closer even when something told me not too
But like a voice from some place of beauty, I could not hold myself back

My head was turned and after a time my heart was drawn to you
Now a captive to your charms as I fell so hard to the feeling I had thought gone
Never knowing from day to day what would happen or if you would just fade away
But no matter how things grew between us. it always felt like it was us and them
