Stargazer (Love's light)

Stargazer

He could feel her in his arms as she leaned back against him. The blanket on the ground kept them from having to sit on the grass which he could feel was still damp from the rainfall earlier that day.

He smiled as he slipped his arms around her body and held her closer to him. he could feel the heat rising from her body and it was something and a feeling he never wanted to lose.

He turned his head slightly as she turned her head to look up at him and he could not help but feel his pulse quicken as his heart seemed to become faster as if trying to race with the rapid thoughts that were now going through his mind.

"Penny for your thoughts?"

She asked and he had to take a second to try and organise those thoughts before he could respond to her.

"It's just such a beautiful night"

He said averting his eyes from her and looking upwards to the cloudless sky above them and he could not help but to marvel at them as they shone down.

"it is a lovely night"

She said as she reached for one of the red cups that sat on their blanket and lifted it to her mouth to sip at the wine that sat within.

"I thought, with the rain today, we were going to have to call this off"

She continued before offering the cup to his lips and he sipped at the contents. his eyes turned downwards for a moment and looked at the now half-empty bottle of wine that he had poured it from.

"I'm glad we could do this"

He said as he looked up at her face and gave her another smile, his thoughts drifting into the past for a moment before he spoke again.

"Always reminds me of our first date"

This caused her to return his smile as a look of happiness formed on her face and a twinkle of reminiscence formed in her eyes.

"Such, a nice place to return to"

She said and leaned back further into him and he closed his arms even tighter around her as they both looked up into the night sky and the stars that seemed to shine for the both of them
