Mountains (Day and Night)

Mountains

In the distance, I can see the mountains before me
Bright blue skies overhead as the sun shines down
Like a symbol of hope that touches my mind, body and soul
So far from my eyes, but so close to my heart

Even when those skies turned dark I could look into the distance and feel hope
Knowing deep down that no matter how dark my world became I had that
Love, heart and inspiration to me that could bring me back from the edge
A reason to open my eyes and take that first step each day

Now the skies begin to darken as black clouds begin to form
Those mountains now seem to become obscured to my eyes
The space between where I stand and those mountains so far away
The hope I had found is nothing more than a fading memory now
