Remain Calm

A Deep breath was taken as I waited to see what came next
At first, it was a sense of calm but it slipped slowly away
Old thoughts and feelings coming back to the surface
A sense of happiness that I have felt was lost for so long

Like a light being switched on and revealing the room I have stepped into
The ideas and creativity form again as life seems to be illuminated for me
Taking each step one by one and not having any expectations
Just that playful back-and-forth that comes so easily and brings a smile

Take that deep breath once again and just keep moving on
Every new day should be taken for what it is and the joy it can bring
And if there is anything I can do, then let it give that joy back in return
Remain calm and just let life carry me where it may
