The Long Run

Just cannot shake that feeling inside
Reached out not knowing what to expect
But in the end, it always ends the same
Perhaps more to blame than I can handle

The future is not seen after the ninth and in the end, I see
Perhaps one last moment of happiness is in my future
But I took that chance and was treated to a thumbs up in return
Just the mess that I call a life that haunts me

I am better off gone and never to be remembered
Just an annoyance of thought to be pushed aside
One final hurdle to get over and then the world can begin a new
Because in the long run, it is somewhere better without me
