Next Rainfall

I look from my window as the sky above lets the downpour come
The stinging sensation coming from my eyes from too many tears
I see the people in the streets below as they rush to find shelter from the pour

Even from here I can still close my eyes and see you a world away
The sound of the rain as you sat in your car and it came down
A moment we shared even if now a memory to be held onto

The connection even from the separate worlds we tried to share
Feeling so strong, but in the end, I could never be enough
Now I wait for the next rainfall, so I can recall that time once again
