Seek Peace

I often find in moments of turmoil I can look back at the past
See her smile or picture her in places that need to be spoken about
So much space between us in both distance and regret

But in her found peace something that I lacked in my life
Never was it perfect, but you always need to look beyond
Even at times when the walls feel like they are going to come down

Now I can find something in knowing that she is there
The words that she shares are like a gift to all those around her
A small moment of solace in a world that threatens to unravel
Now I know I can seek peace, even if it is only for a short time
