Time away

Time spent in the place that holds so many memories
Some good and others enough to make me want to go again
Clinging to what little I feel I have left inside and a place to feel something
Pondering the choices I have made and do not want to make

Silence or recrimination is it any different whether in their voice or yours
The world moves on I am several steps behind it and without the urge to catch up
I wish I could find more than flashes of something better in my head
But it does not matter if I am here or not it seems

The world continues to spin without interruption and I will go with it
Until the day that I find the place to step down and smile once again
More words were shared and went largely unnoticed once more
Time away and nothing ever has to change
