Whispered Echoes

So much noise as my head fills with the voices of the past
Different people but the words seem so familiar as they echo around me
Softly spoken but with the power they originally carried
If I stop and focus perhaps I will understand once more

Over and over I hear them as they twist and turn before me
Whispered echoes that are a look into the past and a warning
My eyes close tighter as I once again take the chance to understand
is there wisdom to be taken or just misery and mistakes given

Time will tell or I hope it will give me something I missed
Taking the good and the bad and making the sense I need to know
Now I feel calm I can focus on what I hear and it begins to be clearer
Whispered Echoes that could be the past present or perhaps the future
