Renewal

In the words I used to find a way to take the feelings inside and show them
Express the words of love or affection that I could not always find to say
Take whatever pain was eating away at me and let it out
Words on a page in front of me, but always a better way than to let them be

From the highest feelings I could feel when I felt the touch of love
To the lowest depths of conjuring up the pain of the past that threatens to overwhelm
This jumbled mess of words and feelings inside of my head seeking a new life
Tried and tested it again and again and with it, I hope some understanding found

But how long could this work for me?
How long could this be my path to peace for a time
The feelings amplified to joy or the pain purged even for but a time
This path of renewal seems to slip further and further away.
