Say my name

Watching from across the way, I see you standing at the entrance to one of the office buildings. In my right hand is a cup of overpriced coffee which I can feel the heat of even through the cup.

Perhaps if my attention was not so lost on you I would put the cup down on the glass table I am sitting at. my mind races as I am lost in your beauty and I wish I could talk to you and not have myself stumble over my words as I do in my head.

I watch as you turn slightly to face another office worker, a co-worker perhaps? but I see the smile form on your face and the man before you cannot help but be infected by it and smiles in return.

unheard words exchanged between them and the unmistakable look of laughter being shared, the effect causing her head to turn as her hand comes up to touch her mouth and suppress something.

Perhaps a joke a little too much for her sense of humour but I can still see the mirth in those beautiful eyes.

I turn my head away as I feel a sense of shame for spying like this, I wish I was not so captivated by her. but not as much as I wish I could find the courage or a reason to speak with her.

To be given that chance to get to know her and perhaps in time even. well, who knows what? I just need to take that chance and try to spark up a conversation if I ever have the chance.

I turned my head back and expected to see her gone and I feel my breath suddenly catch in my chest as I see her coming towards where I sat and she is still smiling as she was before.

My eyes close as I try to muster the courage to speak, even a good morning would be something and perhaps the start of something better.
