Stars Align

The days have come and gone now but I could not help but feel something
A moment of optimism that something was going to change for me
Three things in my mind and any of them coming true would have been something
Like a calling from above it seems in my mind like feelings were changing

It felt good, so good indeed to think something good was going to happen
Like a veil of indifference lifted from me and I could see once again
The path ahead of clear and I could walk with purpose and not just shuffle
inside it felt like I could be myself again and I did not understand why

Alas hope is often offered to be taken away or just make things hurt more
Three things and not one of them came to pass as I became a fool of my own hope
I can look back now and feel more cautious about giving into flights of freedom
if stars align then they do not do so for me and the path seems ever clearer
