Fearless (Journey begins)

Fearless

She looked across at the screen, she could feel the chair creak as she leaned back a little more and studied the list of headlines that were on display. her eyes scanning over them with little interest.

This had become a daily routine now. apparently from the advice of her friends and family. she needed to get back on the old horse and find someone new. what had it been since she broke up with Tom?

"No. no. no"

She said softly to herself as she continued to look over the list and dismissed each headline one after the other. each seeming more cheesy than the last as she reached the bottom of the list and considered her options.

One, she could lean forward put her hand on the mouse and click the little number two and move on to the next page or the second option was to close the window and at least claim she had done her due diligence for the day.

She was not sure she could handle any more cheesy chat-up lines or attempts for people to seem interesting, no her mind was made up and she reached for the mouse as it sat on the blue-tattered-looking mouse mat.

She watched as the cursor moved up the screen and towards the X icon in the corner, just one click and she could get out of this internet cafe and get on with her day besides dating was so overrated anyway.

Without warning she felt someone bump into her shoulder as she went to click the left button on the mouse, she turned her head to see a short woman with brown hair looking embarrassed at having bumped into her.

"Sorry, sorry"

She blurted out and seemed to almost shrink into herself as she apologised over and over. a simple nod in response and a simple smile were enough to send the woman on her way and she turned back to the screen.

The screen had changed and now she could see another page of lonely hearts in front of her, the mouse having slipped to the next option and now she saw a fresh page of hell that she would have to scroll through,

Her eyes narrowed as she looked to the top of the list and simply saw the headline that read

Fearless.
