Been stood here so long, I do not know who I can believe in

The thrill of it all, set against the wounds I carry so deep

You never seem deterred by my protective nature
You never seem to step back, always coming forward to me

My back now to the wall and it all feels like it could come down on me

Your head tilts slightly and I see you smile as you move nearer
I feel my breath catch in my throat as I struggle to speak
