Eyes of gold

I feel the warmth of the room as I awake from my slumber
The darkness is all around without not a flicker of light
I can feel a sense of peace within me and I wonder what would that be.
The silence is broken as my attention is drawn to an unknown noise

At first, I see nothing, just the darkness that surrounds the room
But then I see a flash of gold appear and then disappear once more
The peace I had felt is overcome with a sense of fear at this
it is then you open your eyes and in the gloom, I am drawn to those eyes of gold

What lies behind them and what of your intentions now you have come
What does your heart hold beyond the glow of those eyes
Do you come here to show me the meaning of fear or
Do you come here to show me what else could be?

Those eyes of gold, watch me and leave me powerless
