Painted Heaven
Painted Heaven
At first glance, the paint looks beautiful in its brilliance
You cannot help but be drawn to it and held in its sway
All you have ever wanted before you and you are filled with joy
But at a closer look and this vision that holds you in its sway
Begins to show the cracks that have always haunted you
The paint chipped away and your hopes fade with it
In time the reality of your worthlessness becomes true
You believed you meant something but now it is nothing
Your true worth is exposed to the world
This painted heaven fades once again
