Lost Memories

A shudder as the cold touch of reality passes through me
The thoughts of so many things that I regret coming back to haunt me
Images of you in my mind that I try to cherish even through the pain

Those regrets just seem to multiply even as I try to fight them back in vain
Around me, the world just seems to be overwhelming
Sounds and sights are just too much for me to bear

Wanting to close my eyes against it all
Fighting back the urge to scream and cry against it all
The thoughts never leave no matter how I wish they were lost memories
