Time Travel

In the blink of an eye, I have found another time, another place
The past surrounds me as it does in my thoughts
But now this is different somehow, this is real

The past is now my presence and I stand looking around me
How far back have I gone? what could I possibly change?
I have lost count of the times that I imagined how this could be.

I feel the coldness of the winter air around me
The distant mountains covered with snow somehow called out to me
Behind me, I hear the sound of people and I turn to see

Some twist of fate or some divine presence has given me this chance
I draw a breath as I try to fight back the apprehension that fills me
Now the love I always needed is here and I can feel the change in the stars
