Second Chances

A second look and that feeling of happiness fills me
From a distance is all I can be and that is less than you need
Wanting to reach out and hold you in my head and my heart again

The feelings in conflict inside of me
Having fled and hurt but now back again
The courage it took means nothing except to me

I know that things could never be the same again
I know that I could never be enough and I have to live with that
I know that there are no second chances, no matter how much I wished
