Lost Sunrise

Another day has come and I stand before it ready to face life once more
The warmth of the new day sun is felt on my face as I look towards the horizon
The brightness grows with each passing moment as the light fills the dawn sky

As this day begins anew I feel my thoughts drift to you
The time we spend together is more fleeting than I wish it to be
Visions of the future spoken by you and held in an embrace against me

The specters of the past drift around me and cause me to question
So far from here in physical form, but a presence in my heart so strong
Another day begins before and I know if we keep each other strong

One day, I know this will be the last lost sunrise without you
