War Paint

Steeling yourself against the thoughts of what you might lose
You turn from beautiful to a woman on the path of conflict
The actions taken are understood but that pain is in the past

I have nothing but the feelings that are inside of me
Those feelings burn so deep that sometimes I feel scared
The fear that you might turn away is something I could not bear
