Faith

I could feel it just slip away from
No matter how hard I fought it did not seem to matter
You just faded away and I thought I had lost you forever

The things we shared were just memories now
The love that meant so much was just buried
The pain was overwhelming as I could do nothing to stop it

Time slipped away and even with that time, it felt no better
I could just see you from afar and felt that leave in time
Here and my every and then gone and no path back was clear

The pain numbed me and in time, I did not feel better
The pain eased to a point that I just felt empty
The fights have taken their toll and now there is nothing left

But as where the night is darkest just before the dawn
You came back to me, you saw me let me know
The feelings we shared returned to each other

slowly at first as we both were victims of our fear and pasts
But in time, you both acknowledge how we feel and embraced it
Even when I felt all was lost, you came and restored my faith in you
