The future lies in front of you as you stand at the start of the road ahead
Behind you is the past, the regrets that burn like a city razed to the ground
Ahead of you is the unknown, the possibilities that you dare to dream of

The open road winds on and on as far as the eye can see
the multitude of voices in your head warning you of what could be
Safety in the past even if it held so much pain

Better to know the safety of misery you have known
Then the pain of hope was given and taken away again
