if he could break on through, he did not doubt that he would
if he could reach out from the darkness of his world and be part of hers
if he could bridge that night and day that dominated his existence

This curse or blessing as some saw it, had long since been placed on him
This uncontrollable thirst that would always set him aside from humanity
This creature that he had become so many hundreds of years ago

His longing that he felt for was as strong as any hunger that he ever felt
The pain he felt not being able to be with her, burned deep inside of him
The love he had for her was only something he could have from a distance

The beauty that she had inside and out, drew him to her
The darkness within him that would ultimately chase her away
