Summer's Gone

The sun is now setting sooner as darkness comes
No longer do I have the heat of the sun to warm my body
The coming season is upon me and I feel lost

Soon the time will come and the passage of time will alter
The ending of the day comes as twilight falls upon us
The night is now longer as whatever lurks in the shadows grows bolder

The Summer has come and gone, lost to the passage of time
Lost like so much else that can be taken from us
The fleeting light of those summer days, now fallen to the cold darkness of night
