Silent Song

The words now mean nothing unlike before
The sounds of the music, now gone from my ears
The memories it invokes in me of when it was our song

Something so meaningful taken from my life
Taken like the volume muted with the push of a button
The silence was now all around me and not wanting to hear the music

Gone are the feelings, no perhaps not gone but forced down
Gone like the sounds of the music that meant so much
The song that was ours is now silent in my mind
