There is No Pain

The past can often bring us pain as we hold onto something lost
The past should never be forgotten, but neither should it control us
The past should help us learn and find the way forward to something better

I have been guilty of not practising what I speak of
I have been guilty of letting the pain of the past control me
I have been guilty of not letting go for far too long

It is said that we should be in control of what we feel inside
it is not always as easy as people would like to preach to you
it is something that often takes the strength of another to help you take that step

With you, I have found that strength to make my world bright
With you, I have found the path to walk to make myself stronger
With you, I have taken all that pain and turned it into something better

Now I have you in my life I am finding a way to make it all better
Now I have you in my life I know that I can make you happy too
Now I have you in my life there is no pain
