Rolling Sea

Standing remembering the past, thoughts of my life and what had come before
The ground beneath my feet and the world a place of so much potential
The dreams that fill your head are still alive and seemingly within reach

Everything before as you fill your world with those visions
The oceans of your life are not as easy as you once might have seen
The waters rolling and deeper than might have possibly seen

The wind at your back as you set out in search of those dreams
The waters rose as you sailed across those rolling seas
The future you seek is on the horizon but life is not as easy as it seems

The storms coming and sending you reeling across the deck of the ship called life
Thrown from one place to another as you fight back to steady the vessel
The struggle is real as you come to terms with the darkness beyond your dreams

Life is too much at times and you want to just let go
Ready to be driven into the jagged rocks of turmoil and anguish
Those rolling seas becoming more than you could have ever seen

But just like the sea rise up and then fall back down
This moment of peace gives you the time to look around and take stock of it all
Even as the darkest night seems to come, the sun rises and you feel hope again

In the distance you see the land ahead, the outcroppings of the mountains visible
Like those rising peaks, she comes to me, a force as powerful as any storm
The dreams you had awaken once more and something in you changes

Take me with you, let me sail the calm waters of your sea, let me take your hand
As you guide me into the calmer waters and away from these rolling sea
The love I feel for you gives me the strength to find calmer waters and dream again
