Labour of love

Love is something that seemed so far away
Given and taken away when you thought it was true
From the highest high and back down into the dirt again

Finding someone that makes you feel alive
Finding someone who makes you want more and more
Finding someone who gives you that moment of pause to think of them

The labour is undertaken without thought of reward
Her time was given and it was more than I could have hoped for
Taking me so often by surprise by the power of her spirit and her actions

I walk along this path and the labour of love before me without hesitation
