Living for Today

I have lived in the past for way too long
Clinging to the things that I could never change
Wishing away the present with dreams of what is never going to happen

I have often looked into the future and been lost in flights of fantasy
Hoping that things would be different from the way they are now
Some wild daydream beyond anything I have ever known

Since you came into my life, I have learned something important
I have learned that every day that you are here with me, is special
I have learned that living for today is a wonderful thing

Even allowing the daydream of an eye to our future to become real
