Sometimes the world feels deserted to me
There are people around but they are like shadows on the wall
You can see them, but you cannot reach out and touch them

Empty spaces that you move through every single day
The sound of the world filling your ears but it seems like incoherent chatter
And those are the good times when the silence comes.

The silence makes you want to scream into the void
But sometimes that void offers something back
A hope, a presence, the chance of something more

And that is where the story changes, where she comes into my life
I have spoken so much of her, but the words are always empty to what she gives
Now she is here, I feel the world around feels less empty and grows each day
