How can something that once made you feel something mean nothing

The futility of it now so transparent
A fool in love too now a fool abandoned

The signs there to see, so much time spent and then stripped clean
The strength you desperately needed is now torn away
The love you thought you had to give, now shunned and pushed away

Blackness inside as you realise the truth
Never anything more than a fool
