Soul kiss

There was a coolness in the air, perhaps it was the touch of the air condition unit upon the wall or maybe even where the light breeze came through the open window and made the curtains move gently in its flow.

The room was dim from where the lights had been turned off, only a single table light bringing enough of a glow to show the outlines of the two lovers as they faced each other.

A sense of apprehension filled the single step distance between them and neither wanted to seem to make a move to reach the other, both stared at the other, a sparkle almost visible in his eyes as they did.

They had waited so long for this moment, spoken about it so many times and now perhaps that apprehension was them both fearful that the reality would not live up to the dream they had created over so many nights of conversation.

Another breath was drawn in and then released softly into the stillness of the room, the only action he could bring himself to do as they both still seemed trapped in this moment of choice.

She chose to be the bolder of the pair, her passions now overcoming any feelings of nervousness, a single step is all it took for her to now be stood in front of him. the smile on her face lighting up her face in his eyes.

He watched as she lifted her hand and he felt the touch against his chest as she placed it there, the connection now as real as it had always felt even over the distance that had separated them previously.

He looked into her face and could not have looked away if his life had depended on it, her eyes as beautiful as anything he could have thought to write to her, the touch of her hand against his chest holding him in place.

She moved another half step closer and he felt the touch of her lips pressed against the middle of his chest, he felt his chest tighten with the surge of energy that filled him now.

The touch of her lips was like a kiss touching his soul and he knew he was hers forever.
