Life crashes down around us, sends us scattering for safety
The parts of us broken and scattered and feared that they can never be mended
Shrinking back against the pain and afraid to even be seen

Hidden away and shielded and not daring to dream
Broken and in pieces, the parts shattered beyond what our hope can comprehend
Down on our knees and not even wanting to understand

But then from the darkest place, we would dare imagine she comes
No creature of perfection, but someone who understands
Slowly at first, her actions were careful and measured

She holds hurt inside her heart as you have
Stronger she has grown and tries to offer you that
A hand offered and nothing more, they understand that nothing can be rushed
