Falling rain
The gentle pouring of the rain falls slowly from the sky
The darkening clouds threatening the coming storm
Standing here with you in my arms
Watching as a drop of rain falls onto your face and begins to slowly fall
Tilting my head as I look at you, hand reaching up to trace the fall of the water
Finger trailing down your face as it moves ahead of the path of the raindrop
A flash of lightning fills the sky as the sound of thunder can be heard in the distance
The light illuminates your beautiful face as you look up at me.
Your body pressed tight against me as the thunder rocks the night once more
Arms cradling around you as I shield you from your fears
A gentle kiss lay upon your head as the heavens begin to release their tears
Hand moving to touch the underside of your chin and lifting your head to look at me
Another crash of thunder and the sky is lit up once more by the following lightning
My head looking up at the night sky even as the flash begins to dim
My eyes are drawn from yours to the splendour of the dimming night sky
Magnificent, the words coming from my lips as I look back into your eyes
The forces of nature building, the torrent of rain coming down harder
Lost here in your eyes and at the mercy of nature
Heart pounding in my chest as we look into each other’s eyes
Wanting to be nowhere else but here in each other’s arms
