Tides move, and so do hearts...
I knew the moment
Arriving on her heart' shore
Tides move so quickly
The tides of your thoughts
Sometimes in and lifting
Sometimes out and withdrawn
She said
Stay outside and look around
You can't come in or settle down
Admire the view, but never touch
My heart has room
But you're too much
So for a while I stayed and watched
I saw her tears from something botched
I said
You could come stay within mine
My heart is open, all of the time
So she had herself a little look
I don't think she liked the view
Her intentions I mistook
But now I finally knew
I slowly walked away
She kept wanting me to stay
I said what for?
My heart was open
Yet you closed the door
I won't be kept at arm's length
Staying that far back takes all of my strength
Loving you again would bring me sorrows
A room chalk full of empty tomorrows
So like a balloon let go in the wind
Helium can take me to where I can begin
Again
