Highschool dropouts. What was life like for you in highschool?

The street lights flicker on
The night sky is cold as stone
My phone reads babe please just come home
I don't know where to go
The street signs read memory lane
I walk through my home state
Every rock and tree brings back memories
My feet beats to the rhythm of the past
I don't think the night will last
I dream walk down the road my soul has grown stone cold.
The hours and time slayed by daylight heat and street lights memories Of bare feet on top of asphalt basketball games that never end until a fight breaks out between old friends and the hunger in our bellies drove us home to empty houses and Mtv
And breaking dawn and meeting up with friends
Outside of school to get free breakfast of 2%milk and cearel in tinyboxes and a whole hour before class begins so we played basketball in the gym jimmying the locked doors to open and the smell of yesterday's gym shorts and sweat lingering in the air
And the always seeing you there in the corner
Of the gym your shirts always three sizes to big and your face always paper thin your hair always a mess but some how perfect by the time school ended I never did find out how.
