First time with comments

Today was the first time someone commented on me being shirtless. I joined a couple guys at the park playing basketball then when I got hot enough I took my shirt off. Then this guy was like “Dang he really said skin! Brody said skin for real!”
Is this common? Is this a disapproval of me going shirtless? Should I care?
